Olvera Street, Los Angeles

On December 16, 2011, ORA students visited El Pueblo de Los Angeles, the founding location of Los Angeles, California.  The trip began with a tour by Las Angelitas del Pueblo.  During this tour, students learned about the history of Olvera Street and the historical significance of Ávila Adobe, the oldest building in Los Angeles.  Students also practiced their foreign language speaking skills by ordering food in Spanish at Casa La Golondrina Mexican Cafe and by asking store owners how much various items cost.
